Dr. Geraldine Arriola, originally from New Jersey, moved to Phoenix in 1993 and joined Family VetCare. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Trinity College in Washington DC and received her DVM from the University of California Davis. Her areas of special interest include senior care, nutrition and ferrets. Dr. Arriola shares her home with her husband and three children. She has a Black Labrador Retriever named ‘Genevieve’.

Dr. Desiree Jordan was born and raised in southeastern Washington. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Portland State University, and her DVM from Michigan State University with additional graduate work in Pharmacology. She relocated to Arizona and joined Family VetCare in November 2007 following a one-year small animal internship in Phoenix. Her areas of special interest include internal medicine, neurology, gastroenterology, ultrasound and senior care. She currently shares her home with ’Carmen’, a Pekingese; ‘Nash’, a Golden Retriever; two cats, ‘Alex’ and ‘Kaleb’; two ferrets, ‘Haley’ and ‘Jewel’; and a Sengal Parrot named ‘Bintu’.

Dr. Annette Majoue was born in Arizona. Other than 4 years in Washington State for veterinary school, she has lived in southern Arizona her entire life. She received her undergraduate degree in Veterinary Science in 2001 and her DVM in 2004. She is interested in infectious disease control, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She enjoys running and horse back riding in her spare time. She has 2 dogs, ‘Elsie’ and ‘Pearl’; 2 horses ‘Bruce’ and ‘YoYo’; 1 cat Manny; 1 rabbit ‘Mufasa’; and 1 turtle ‘Shrimpy’. Many of her animals are named after Disney or Pixar movie characters.

Dr. Jen McGivern is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and moved to Arizona in May 2007. She received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2003. In 2007 she received her DVM from Iowa State University and joined Family VetCare following graduation. Her areas of special interest include surgery and emergency medicine, however everything about veterinary medicine is of interest!! Dr. McGivern shares her home with her pooch, ‘Kia Sophia’, a mixed breed dog. In her spare time she enjoys running and hiking, rock climbing, and scuba diving.

Dr. Carla Mott is from Chicago, Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree in Zoology from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale. In 1997 she graduated with her DVM from Iowa State University. In 2002 she joined Family VetCare. Her areas of special interest include soft tissue laser surgery, internal medicine, endoscopy and preventive medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association and the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. She lives in Phoenix with ‘Sanford’, a Chow Mix; ‘Zach’, a Grey Tabby; and ‘Zoey’, a Calico. In her spare time she enjoys kickboxing, running, bosu, cycling, travel, theater and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. John Olson grew up in Burbank, California and his family relocated to Kansas during his high school years. He received his undergraduate degree and DVM from Kansas State University in 2003 and has been practicing with Family VetCare since graduation. His areas of special interest include endoscopy, surgery, and emergency medicine. Dr. Olson lives in Chandler with ‘Norah’, a 3 year old Border Collie. In his spare time he enjoys martial arts, biking, and fishing.

Dr. Melinda Patterson received her undergraduate in Veterinary Science from the University of Arizona in 2000. In 2006 she received her DVM from Colorado State University and joined Family VetCare following graduation. Her areas of special interest include dermatology, preventive medicine, and behavior counseling. She is a member of the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Patterson lives in Phoenix with her husband and daughter. They share their home with two dogs, two cats, and a tortoise named ‘Rocky’. ‘Sydney’ is a Boxer, ‘Shelby’ is a Labrador Retriever Mix, ‘Mako’ is a Domestic Shorthair, and ‘Piper’ is a Domestic Medium Hair. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, researching exotic species, and Wildcat Basketball. Go Cats!

Dr. Alani Selland is originally from North Dakota. She earned her undergraduate degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She developed an interest in emergency and critical care medicine after working in an emergency practice in Tucson. She enjoys spending her free time with her hound mix “Watson” and her two cats.

Dr. Bill Wodiske moved from California and has been in Arizona since 1982, when he founded Family VetCare. He received his undergraduate degree in Bacteriology and Public Health, and his DVM from Washington State University. His areas of special interest include surgery and practice management. Dr. Wodiske lives in Phoenix with his wife, and three dogs. Max “Squirtie Boy” is a Miniature Schnauzer; Cochinita “Princess” is a Cairn Terrier; and Skeeter “Skeetie” is a Yorkshire Terrier. In his spare time he enjoys motorcycle riding, hiking, and other outdoor sports with his wife and two sons.

Dr. Travis Wodiske was born and raised in beautiful Arizona! He attended Arizona State University for his undergraduate degree, and received his DVM from Washington State University (Go Cougs!). He then completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery internship at Kansas State University, where he developed a passion for surgery, dentistry, endoscopy, internal medicine, and practice management. He joined Family VetCare in June 2009. He enjoys spending time with his wife, and enjoys free time in the great outdoors whenever the opportunity arises!
